As a sat down to have lunch at 4pm… yes at 4PM, it was a busy day… I overheard the girls laughing and playing in the living room. I didn’t pay any mind to it and continue eating my delicious minestrone soup I had prepared that afternoon. When I was all done, I went to check the girls… and there it was my living room wall all scribbled with crayons.
As I shouted “Oh my God, what have you done?”, Emma looked at me with a huge smile and said “I painted our family portrait”. At that moment, instead of getting mad I cried. She proceeded to show me each person of our family.
This drawing is even more special, because it was Emma’s first time drawing actual people. Instead of choosing to get mad over a simple wall, I choose to love the work of art of my four year old. Instead of reprimanding, I choose to praise her. Instead of stressing over crayons, I choose to look through her eyes and see the beauty of our family.
So proud of my Chichi. Me robas el corazón!
