Coconut oil is one of my favorite things to have at home. I love adding it to my smoothies for an extra boost to my immune system and metabolism. But here I share with you five ways I use it outside my kitchen.

  1. Lotion – I love applying a good amount of coconut oil to my skin after showers as it locks in moisture. Plus it is an all-natural moisturizer and not like regular lotions that have tons of chemicals that are then absorbed by your skin.
  2. Hydrating Facial Cream – Coconut oil is known for its wrinkle reducer properties. I used it with a drop of melaleuca (tree tee) oil for extra rejuvenating benefits.
  3. Hair Detangler – Coconut oil is the perfect conditioner to help me detangle my girls’ hair. Better yet, I do not have to worry about chemicals damaging their beautiful curls.
  4. Natural Chest Rub – I combine coconut oil with a few drops of Breathe essential oil from doTerra and it keeps my family breathing nicely during colds.
  5. Lip Balm – during the cold months my lips get extra dry and when at home I use coconut oil to keep them moist and looking healthy.

Coconut oil is antifungal, antibacterial and antimicrobial, and you can use it in so many ways for yourself as well as around your house.
